Activities related to, during, and after Covid-19
- Vanita Committee members actively participated in teleconsultation, tele-counseling, tele-medication, awareness classes, medicine distribution, and patient education activities. Many joined Ayurveda Raksha Task Force and Covid Warriors services
- Vanitha Clinic Training: As an adaptation to the CoVid 19 scenario Vanita Clinic training was conducted on the online platform. The highlight was the sessions handled by eminent faculties of national and international fame. 91 doctors settled overseas like in the Middle East and the UK also attended the training. 293 participants attended the 12 classes on various relevant topics. Certificates were also distributed to participants on completion of training
- Lavanya 2020: A series of 3 workshops on Cosmetology was conducted for the upskilling of all Vanitha Clinic trained doctors from 2013 to 2020.
- Poovili 2020: Online Onam Celebration: On the October 2nd of October 2020 an Online Onam competition for various events was conducted for lady doctors. The event was inaugurated by the famous cine playback singer Ms. Mridula Varrier. 125 doctors from 14 districts participated. Those who secured first and second positions in the district-level competitions were awarded prizes. The district championship was also announced for the district with maximum points
- Other activities include participation in World Environmental Day, Senior citizens' Day, Diabetes Day, National Ayurveda Day, International Yoga Day, and other AMAI activities
- International Women’s Day March 2021: Undeterred by the Covid-19 pandemic situation VAnita Committee doctors conducted around 800 online and offline awareness classes on the topic "Janani-2021: Mother and Child Healthcare through Ayurveda ".
- Vanita Committee 2021 Vanitha Committee Statewide program calendar for the year was officially inaugurated on the 8th of May on the online platform
- Samvadam 2021: On the 20th of May corresponding to the first Vanitha Committee meeting, a CME on the topic "How to manage Covid 19 the second phase at Home?" was conducted by Pulmonologist, Dr. Mahesh, ESI Hospital
- Vanitha Clinic Training Program 2021: 14 sessions were conducted from the 18th of July to the 10th of September. 200 plus doctors participated and completed the program.
- Family Health through Ayurveda: A public outreach grassroots-level program related to Covid-19 was conducted with the active involvement of area-level Vanita Committees. Public awareness classes on" Post-covid management " and online consultation services to expand the clinical practice possibilities of private practitioners were the highlights
- Poster Making and Cartoon Designing competitions for doctors and families were conducted as part of extracurricular activity
- Vismaya Dowry Harassment Case: As a social responsibility gesture AMAI Vanita Committee registered a complaint to the Vanitha Commission demanding a fair trial and justice for the suspicious dowry harassment death case of final BAMS student Vismaya
- Onam celebrations were organized in all districts
- National Ayurveda Day: Around 1000 awareness classes were conducted all over Kerala on "Balanced diet in Ayurveda "
- National Balika Day 2022: About 800 awareness classes were organized on topics related to "Physical and Mental challenges faced by Girls". Various competitions and discussions were also conducted as part of the initiative
- International Women's Day 2022: The event was named "Jeevanam" and conducted with programs including awareness classes on the subject "Post-Covid management". A common module was followed for public awareness classes through support material in the form of TOT, PPT, and posters
- At the 22nd May 2022, 43rd AMAI Annual State Council Meet held at Thiruvalla, Dr. Asmabi MA as Chairperson and Dr. Tintu Elizabeth Tom as Convenor took charge of the AMAI Vanita Committee with a vow to continue and scale up Vanita Committee to new heights
A look back on the spectacular commitment-driven history of the Vanita Committee, from 2010 to 2022, the achievements of empowerment of lady doctors and enhancement of their skills are evident. Presently 7 o 7 District committee office bearers and 67 Area committee leaders are lady doctors. The jewel in the crown is the first-ever woman president of AMAI. Dr. CD Leena the seasoned organizational leader is at the helm of AMAI. More to come in the years ahead
